God Left Me In The Whale

Cleansed from my sins
I fall back in again
And begin to defend
All my darkest of whims

And I spin myself wildly out of control
As I dig myself deeper into my dark hole
In this well that I’ve fell
I can tell I’m in hell
Cause my tail has rebelled
Back into my hard shell

And I yell up for help to the hole in the sky
But accept that He’s kept me alone here to die
Cause I’m stuck in the muck
That I’ve dug with my luck
I give up, my eyes shut
In a rut that I’ve cut

And enough is enough when I’m sure that it’s not
I’m convinced that my “sense” says my Savior forgot
‘Cause I’m caged and I’m crazed
And depraved and enraged
That malaise has replaced
The display on my face

And embraced the erasing from me of my hope
As Jehovah bends over and throws me His rope
I realize all the lies
That comprised this disguise
Were aligned so I’d find
That my bind was a sign

All this time I was fine, I had nothing to fear
‘Cause my God’s not forgotten that I am down here
