My dear, my dear,
My Pot of Gold
How did you ever
Grow so old?
You’re not as young
As you once were
And fight these
Moments to conserve
The essence of
Your fading youth
For you can’t seem
To face the truth
That little one
You would consult
Is now a fully-
Grown adult
But as the child’s
Pages end
A brand new section
Will begin
So wipe those tears
And dry your eyes
It’s true that every
Chapter dies

Adulthood’s not
The end of life
So spread your wings,
Begin thy flight!
