Sorrow-Drowned

I cannot stand to see you fade
To watch you as you slip away
To see the look upon your face
As all your rainbows change to grey

The colors that once shone so bright
Now plain as day and dark as night
I wish you’d not give up this fight
By giving in to such small plight

That’s not to minimize your pain
But what do you expect to gain
From drowning in your ethyl-rain
And ruining your brilliant brain

I know I’m not the best to speak
But if upon this path you keep
I fear that you will sink too deep
And leave my heart to mourn and weep
