t’s never quite the way you thought it would be

Always a little off Puzzles with imaginary solutions And temporary fixes For temporary complications And things unseen But felt by the heart And thrown to the wayside Discarded Up in flames With the broken dreams The broken wings And things unseen But felt by the heart Guided by night Lost in the dark But you get what you want Though always a little off And not quite what you expected But you want to like it And even though it can’t be seen It’s felt by the heart So you accept it And the pieces never fit Quite the way they did before Always a little off Not how you thought it would be And not that you can see But felt by the heart Discarded A little off Unseen But felt Not like you Just off A little
